The Vyavsayik Pariksha Parishad Uttar Pradesh (VPPUP) is the supervising body of the vocational training centers in India’s state of Uttar Pradesh. The VPPUP manages the affairs of the Government-financed Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and the privately-funded Industrial Training Centers (ITCs) that conduct the technical training courses.
The apex body that is the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), while functioning at the national level, drafts the policies of the skill-based programs. Thereafter, the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) has to follow the NCVT’s guidelines in the respective states.
As part of vocational training, the centers impart both theoretical and practical knowledge where the former constitutes 30%; and the latter, 70%. Further, there is an array of trades – they are grouped in the category of NCVT and SCVT ones. However, to qualify for the NCVT/SCVT trades, the candidates have to be eligible; thus, be sure to study the eligibility criteria and apply accordingly.
The successful completion of the NCVT trades leads to getting the National Level Trade Certificates (NLTCs); while through the SCVT trades, the pupils are conferred with the State Level Trade Certificates (SLTCs).
