The skill-based centers in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh are managed by the Directorate of Skill Development of the Department of Technical Education & Training, working under the Madhya Pradesh Government. Vocational education across the Indian states is rendered through the Government-managed Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and the privately-run Industrial Training Centers (ITCs).
The vocational courses, in India, are overseen by both the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) and State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT) that work at the national level and state level, respectively.
Both theoretical knowledge and practical education is imparted through the Government’s proposals, the Craftsmen Scheme and the Apprenticeship Scheme. In the process, the students can gain technical know-how and become eligible to work in the trades that they choose.
The aspiring candidates have a choice of several NCVT and SCVT trades that they can enroll for. After they successfully complete the NCVT courses, they are conferred with the National Level Trade Certificates (NLTCs); and for the SCVT trades, the State Level Trade Certificates (SLTCs). With the NLTCs and SLTCs, they can apply for the national-level and state-level jobs.
